Welcome Message

Welcome to the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Web site.

We have provided information to help you learn more about our office, as well as, audit resources, and access to our audit reports.

The Legislative Auditor is one of the largest public accounting practices in the State of Louisiana and certainly one of the largest employers of certified public accountants. However, in addition to accountants, the Legislative Auditor also employs public administrators, attorneys, actuaries, computer analysts, Information Technology auditors, and many other individuals who offer the public a broad spectrum of skills.

The Legislative Auditor serves as the watchdog of public spending, overseeing more than 3,500 audits of state and local governments and their related quasi-public enterprises. Conducting independent financial and performance audits of the State's agencies, colleges, and universities, our auditors find ways to improve government and identify critical issues to protect public resources and tighten government control systems. When necessary, we follow up on allegations of fraud, waste, or abuse. Audits are contained in the Web site and can be easily searched by choosing Audit Reports.

If you do not find what you need on our Web site, we encourage you to call 225-339-3800 or stop by if you need information on any of Louisiana's state or local government entities, require technical assistance, or have suggestions for audits of state government entities. We are located at 1600 N. Third Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the First Circuit Court of Appeals Building just north of the State Capitol.

We hope you find our site informative and useful.
